Nate Dogg’s Highly Recruited Son To Play Football At University Of Arizona

Nate Dogg’s Cornerback Son Commits To Arizona

(AllHipHop News) Naijiel Hale, son of late Hip Hop legend Nate Dogg, has committed to play football for the University of Arizona. The four-star recruit announced at The Opening on ESPNU yesterday that he will be taking his talents to Tucson.

Hale attended St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California along with fellow top recruit Jaleel Wadood. Najijiel is listed as the 20th best cornerback in the country by Scout.com, 28th by 247Sports.com, and 33rd by Rivals.com.

Scout describes the 5’11”, 170 lbs defensive back as “agile, fast and good hips, which are ideal for a corner, but also likes to hit and plays the run like a safety or OLB.” Hale was all-league and all-region his junior year in high school, and he maintained a 3.0 GPA.

Hale was heavily recruited by several other schools including California, Nebraska, Arizona State, Boise State, Utah, and Washington State.

“I’ve known I’ve wanted to play for [Arizona] since the day they offered me,” Hale told the Arizona Daily Star. “They’ve been my top school since Day 1.”

As the son one of the most iconic voices in Hip Hop, Hale is ready to make name for himself outside of the legacy of his father.

“One of the main reasons I wanted to play football was to get myself out there and make a name for myself,” Hale added. “Now I get to do that.”
