Pharrell Signs With Columbia Records For New 2014 Solo Album

PHARRELL’S NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED THROUGH COLUMBIA RECORDS IN 2014

(AllHipHop News) The man with the golden touch for hits will soon begin crafting his own and now has a new record label home. Announced today (December 17th), Pharrell has signed to Columbia Records for the release of his as-of-yet untitled solo debut album for 2014.

Pharrell’s 2006 solo debut album In My Mind was released on Interscope Records and Columbia Records Chairman/CEO Rob Stringer is excited Pharrell made the switch:

When we excitedly partnered with Pharrell in January of this year, we felt it was his time again. Since then, ‘Blurred Lines’ and ‘Get Lucky’ have defined pop music in 2013, and now we are preparing to launch Pharrell as a global solo superstar in 2014. ‘Happy’ is just the beginning.

Pharrell was apart of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” with each appearing in the Top 15 of Billboard’s Top 200 most popular songs of 2013.
