(AllHipHop News) Whether the intended purpose or not, Meek Mill’s Twitter rant against Wale helped the DMV rapper’s new song shoot to number one on the Twitter Trending 140 chart. Billboard reports Wale’s “The Followers” took the top spot yesterday (June 6) afternoon right after the two Maybach Music Group stars exchanged words via social media.

Wale took the opportunity to drop the track as the Twitterverse and the blogosphere went crazy over Meek’s series of tweets accusing The Gifted performer of not supporting his upcoming album Dreams Worth More Than Money.
“The Followers” was produced by Pro Reese and Marce Reazon. The song is a precursor to Wale’s next LP Album About Nothing.
