For the latest installment of Elliott Wilson’s CRWN series he chopped it up with T.I. During their sit-down the King of Atlanta spoke on how he made his latest release, Paperwork, stand out from his previous eight albums.
“Whenever I listen to everything that’s going on, that tells me exactly what not to do. Whenever I hear this is what everyone else is doing, this is the lane they’re going down I make a conscious effort to go the opposite direction. I can sprinkle little elements of it in here and there.”
The Grand Hustle boss also talked about his relationship with Pharrell Williams and why he repsects his artistry so much.
“His ability to reinvent himself, his ability to color outside the lines and to diversify himself as a producer with working with all types of artists from Pusha T to Snoop Dogg to Daft Punk to Robin Thicke to Miley Cyrus to T.I. He’s been on the charts with everybody of all genres. ”
