(AllHipHop News) Two more big names have signed on to star in the upcoming live adaptation of The Wiz. NBC announced Chicago emcee Common (Selma) and R&B star Ne-Yo (Stomp The Yard) have been selected for roles in the production. Hairspray actor Elijah Kelley is now part of the cast as well.

Common will play the gatekeeper to Oz, Ne-Yo will play Tin Man, and Kelley will play Scarecrow. The Wiz Live! will also feature Queen Latifah (The Wiz), Mary J. Blige (Evillene), David Alan Grier (The Cowardly Lion), Stephanie Mills (Auntie Em), Uzo Aduba (Glinda), Amber Riley (Addaperle), and Shanice Williams (Dorothy).
Tony winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin In The Sun) is on to direct. Zadan & Meron, the forces behind the previous live versions of Sound of Music and Peter Pan, are producing.
The Wiz Live! is scheduled to premiere on December 3 on NBC.
