The autobiography will feature Martinez describing her classic interview with the late Tupac Shakur for the first time. In addition, she reveals the reason behind her highly publicized departure from Hot 97 to her current home at Power 105.1.
Readers can expect Martinez to cover other notable interviews, her mediation of feuds between artists, and some of Hip Hop’s most controversial moments. Roc Nation emcee J. Cole provided the foreword.
“Writing this memoir has been one of the most challenging and rewarding tasks I’ve ever taken on,” says Martinez. “I’ve seen a lot and learned a lot, and I’m proud that I’ve been true to myself the whole way.”
My Voice will be available May 17 via Penguin Random House’s Celebra. The book is available for pre-order at penguin.com.
