(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tyga is scheduled to appear in court today (August 9), over allegations that he failed to pay a $480,000 judgement over damage to a house he rented in Malibu.
The rapper, born Michael Ray Stevenson, is supposed to be questioned about his financial affairs and his assets during today’s hearings in a Santa Monica Courtroom.
Tyga rented the pricey Malibu mansion in 2011, which came with a price tag of $16,000 a month.
In addition to missing one month’s worth of rent, the rapper is accused of breaking his lease early and trashing the place.
The landlord claims Tyga installed a custom stripper pole in the master bedroom, and ruined the hardwood floors and showers in the pricey residence.
Tyga was sued over the issue in 2012, and lost a default judgment. According to the L.A. Times, Tyga refuses to pay, but the landlord attorneys are pushing the issue and continuing their pursuit of the default judgment.
Last month, Tyga was served with a lawsuit while he was on stage during a performance at Comic-Con in San Diego.
If Tyga doesn’t show up today for a “debtor’s examination,” which will examine his income sources and assets while under oath, an arrest warrant will be issued for the rapper.
