(AllHipHop News) It was revealed earlier this year that Sprint acquired 33% of the Jay-Z-led Tidal streaming service.
The two companies have now announced that Sprint customers and Tidal members will get exclusive access to Jay’s forthcoming 4:44 album.
“Today is an exciting day to be a Sprint customer. Jay-Z is a global icon and we’re giving customers an incredible opportunity to be among the first to experience his new album 4:44,” states Marcelo Claure, Sprint president and CEO. “Our loyal, existing customers, and customers who switch to Sprint, can experience the album exclusively, plus access a complimentary six-month trial of Tidal HiFi, giving them access to content they can’t get anywhere else.”
4:44 is scheduled for release on June 30.
This will be Jay-Z’s 13th solo studio album, and his first since 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.
The Brooklyn-raised emcee is also set to headline the Made In America festival in Philadelphia.
Fellow Roc Nation artists J. Cole and Vic Mensa are part of the September 2 and 3 event as well.
More exclusive content is expected to emerge from the Sprint/Tidal deal.
New and existing Sprint customers can get a complimentary six-month trial of Tidal by visiting Sprint.TIDAL.com or a Sprint store.
