Vic Mensa Talks Mending Estranged Friendship With Chance The Rapper (VIDEO)

“THE CITY NEEDS US TO BE UNIFIED”

(AllHipHop News) Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper are two of the hottest emcees to emerge from Chicago over the last few years.

The 2014 XXL Freshmen actually rose in the city’s Hip Hop scene together as members of the SaveMoney crew.

Last summer, observers began speculating Vic and Chance had a falling out after Mensa posted an Instagram picture with Jay-Z and Beyoncé, but Chance was purposely blacked out of the photo.

Vic Mensa stopped by The Breakfast Club for an interview, and Charlamagne Tha God insisted that the “Say I Didn’t” rhymer get cool with Chance again.

“We’ve been talking,” responded Mensa. “I feel like that’s also part of my journey – putting this positive energy into the world.”

He continued, “Chance is my brother. We grew up together. If you ever had a brother, you know brother’s fight. Especially growing up and everybody is there to watch it.”

The current status of Vic and Chance’s relationship is not exactly clear, but the Coloring Book creator has been supportive of Mensa’s new album The Autobiography.

“Me & Vic met at a high school open mic when we were 14. We’ve been on this journey for [a long] time. This is much bigger than a moment THIS IS MY BROTHERS DEBUT ALBUM,” Chance wrote on IG two weeks ago.

Mensa was featured on Chance’s 2012 mixtape 10 Day as well as his 2013 breakout project Acid Rap.

Chance returned the favor by contributing to “Tweakin'” off Vic’s 2013 debut Innanetape.

“We ain’t supposed to beef. The city needs us to be unified. That’s the place that I’m at,” added Mensa.

Me & Vic met at a high school open mic when we were 14. We’ve been on this journey for along time. This is much bigger than a moment THIS IS MY BROTHERS DEBUT ALBUM. I’ve decided I’m waiting til it drops to listen. I’ve been through a lot with him but I want to hear it told in his words. #TheAutobiography JULY 28 ???
