“Uncle” Charlie Wilson will continue his support for US troops fighting overseas, by making his fourth appearance in the Middle East in the past three years.
The R&B icon, who launched his career as the lead singer of The Gap Band, is heading to Kuwait this month to perform five dates for the troops, as most prepare to withdraw from the region, since President Obama’s announcement that the war with Iraq was over.
“I can’t wait to get back and have a real party with our troops,”vWilson told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It’s an honor to be a part of the welcome home celebration. We owe them and their families a debt of gratitude for
the sacrifices they have made to protect our country.”
