Along with Creekmur and Watkins receiving the 2013 Hip Hop Pro Pulse Award, Grammy-winning producer Jermaine Dupri, multiplatinum rapper T.I., southern Hip Hop legend Scarface, and Disturbing Tha Peace executive Chaka Zulu were also honored for their contributions to Hip Hop.
For his two decades of work in the music business Dupri was awarded the Hip Hop Pro Visionary Award. Zulu took home the Hip Hop Pro Trailblazer Award as recognition of his growth and success in the industry. Atlanta’s own T.I. was given the Hip Hop Pro Icon Award while Scarface was recognized with the Hip Hop Pro Legend Award.
The star-studded affair was attended by major industry insiders, television stars, and of course some of A-town’s noted musical artists. The night also featured T.I. and Bone Crusher giving a surprise performance of their 2003 megahit “Never Scared,” Ludacris hitting the stage for “All I Do Is Win,” Chubb Rock going old school with “Treat ‘Em Right,” and Jagged Edge serenading the crowd with “Let’s Get Married.” “Sho Nuff” rapper Tela, Q Parker of 112, and others performed as well.
