Biz Markie is a legend. Nearly 25 years after his debut album, Goin’ Off, was released, the man behind records like “Just A Friend”, “I’m Biz Markie”, and “I’m A Ugly N*gga (So What)”, is still going strong.
With his recent appearance on MTV2’s “Hip-Hop Squares” and recurring role on the children’s show, “Yo Gabba Gabba,” which airs on Nick Jr., Biz is no stranger to the world of television. He hinted at a number of new projects in the pipeline, one of which is a reality show that he says “has never been done before.”
Outside of television, Biz is currently working on his sixth solo studio album, which he said will feature him, the rapper-turned-DJ-turned-all-around personality mostly doing what he calls “bugged-out singing.” The album will feature Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and hopefully Method Man, who was behind-the-scenes as the interview took place.
Biz also spoke to AllHipHop.com about what he feels the current role of the DJ is, and what type of equipment he’s using today. Check out our exclusive interview with Biz Markie below:
