(AllHipHop News) When 50 Cent announced he was leaving Interscope Records, the questions began about why the G-Unit leader was leaving his longtime label home. 50 later stated he felt like people in the building were so closely tied to Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre’s Beats headphones brand that his association with SMS Audio headphones caused a rift.

50 addressed the split with Interscope further in an interview with Cosmic Kev:
The last communication I had with Jimmy we were actually talking, and Jimmy tells me he doesn’t like me. For whatever reasons – the miscommunications or his interpretation of why I’m actually doing the things that I’m doing – it doesn’t even matter. Just get me off the actual label before this s**t goes bad. Because I’m not getting the actual response I want out of the material that I’m releasing with them, and it’s to the point where I’m not even trying to put the right thing out. I’m just sitting here, “Put that one. Get that one. You can’t get a song with Em and Adam Levine? What can you get?” They didn’t get anything on Kendrick [Lamar] until after the record sold.
50 goes on to say his latest single is performing better without Interscope’s backing. He claims “Smoke” is doing well on radio, and the label hasn’t had “a record delivered like that in probably three years.”
The Queens rapper also admits that he admired Iovine and credits the record executive for helping his career be a success, but adds, “I’m prejudice… I don’t like people, who don’t like me.”
