(AllHipHop News) Virginia rapper/G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T recently divulged information regarding his upcoming mixtape, The Wrath of Caine and the yet to be named solo album, which will release later in the first quarter of this year.
As of late, Pusha T has been actively dropping visuals and featured verses on G.O.O.D. music projects, but he has been doing so without No Malice, formerly Malice, and one half of the famed rap duo The Clipse, who recently re-devoted himself to God.
“I got my solo album coming out the first quarter, like the end of the first quarter. I think everybody has been hearing me as of late – plenty features, mixtape verses. To me, its like a new beginning. Really different without my brother. I gotta drive. I gotta drive for this game. I do it for what we [have] done musically. Some of the losses, I feel like we’ve taken with family. Its like, man, I want my people to see me get through this. And I want them to be happy about the noise I’m making out here,” Pusha T explained to AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview.
Pusha T was likely eluding to the 32 year sentence that his former manager Anthony “‘Geezy”” Gonzalez is serving in a federal prison after pleading guilty to running a $20 million dollar drug conspiracy.
“It was eight people. It was more than just my manager. Man, my friends been my friends for 15-20 years. If it was any less than that, we grew as close as my friends that I’ve known 15-20 years,” Pusha T explained. “So, I talk to, not all of them. I stay in touch with all their families. Going on, man, can be tough at times.”
Prosecutor’s’ indictment stated that Gonzalez ran a drug empire that had moved a half-ton of cocaine and over a ton of marijuana through Hampton Roads, Virginia, from at least 2003 until 2008.
The former nightclub owner is alleged to have received his drugs from Panama, Florida, California, and Arizona
Representing for his incarcerated family in the best way he knows, Pusha T plans to deliver The Wrath of Caine mixtape to the streets prior to the release of his full length solo effort.
“Look out for my new music, man. ‘The Wrath of Caine.’ ‘The Wrath of Caine’ mixtape dropping. It’s the wrath of caine,’ meaning cocaine. But its street, man. Mixtapes are where you get the uncompromised, 100% music. It’s just a really good outlet for me. And I feel like I’m speaking to my core more than anybody else. I feel like subconsciously, when you are making an album, if not yourself – everybody else around you and labels…there are certain things they are looking for, like radio. I think we’ve seen a lot of mixtapes in the last year better than albums,” Pusha T told AllHipHop.com of the project.
And while many fans are still waiting for a reunion from The Clipse, when asked if No Malice would make the album, Pusha T explained, “I don’t know yet. I haven’t necessarily found that record. He’s very capable of. He called me the other day with a record he wants me to be on.”
