(AllHipHop News) Redman, Treach of Naughty By Nature And DoItAll of Lords Of The Underground, a trio of New Jersey legends, have convened to support a good cause that encourages literacy in children.
Community Impact (211 Ci), Newark, NJ-based non-profit community organization, announced “Move for the City,” a black tie affair, set to support “Reading is for Life.” “Reading is for Life” stresses the importance of reading, but also educates parts on academic standards kids should meet in school. ” The event is tomorrow. Dr. Lauren Wells, Co-Founder and Executive Director, said the this is of supreme importance.
“Literacy is an issue that affects the wellbeing and life opportunities of our entire community. 211 Community Impact is committed to creating a community driven strategy to increasing literacy in our city and to bringing meaningful and relevant literacy resources and opportunities to families and children. We are excited about “Reading is for Life” and about working with our sponsors and community to address such an important issue.”
Redman and Du “DoItAll” Kelly are on the board of Community Impact.
As a board member, I believe in the mission of the organization and support the founders as they work to build a strong organization that will improve the lives of Newarkers,” said Kelly. “As a product of Newark, I want to see this organization be successful for the residents and the children.”
The event will start at 6:30PM at Newark Museum; 49 Washington St, Newark, NJ, 07101, and will honor Dr. Larry Levert, Executive Director of Panasonic Foundation, DJ Marley Marl, Hip Hop Pioneer, and Newark Councilwoman Mildred Crump.
