With reality T.V. s### taking over televisions everywhere, it’s refreshing to hear that BET’s scripted series, “The Game” and “Let’s Stay Together” are back for another season. The two shows will premiere tonight (January 10) on BET, with “The Game” premiering at 10PM and “Let’s Stay Together” at 10:30PM. Both series will boast 22 half-hour episodes and are sure to be topics of discussion on Twitter and blog sites everywhere, as their seasons unfold.
“The Game’s” new season is chuck full of celebrity cameos, with Brandy joining the cast and appearance by Shawn Marion, Estelle, Selita Ebanks, DeRay Davis, Nene Leaks, Loretta Devine, and many others. As the #1 sitcom in the history of cable TV, Season 4 of “The Game” was incredible! Picking up the drama from last season’s finale, Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardict) fights off Derwin’s (Pooch Hall) abortion claims, Jason (Coby Bell) is contending with raising his wild teenage daughter on his own, and Malik (Hosea Chanchez) and his mom Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) struggle to help an intoxicated Jenna (Tika Sumpter).
As for “Let’s Stay Together,” the premiere will answer the big question of what happened at Stacy (Nadine Ellis) and Charles’ (Bert Belasco) wedding from the cliffhanger in last season’s finale, and why he left her standing at the altar. Additionally, Tasha (Joyful Drake) and Jamal (RonReaco Lee) will have their marriage tested by former relationships and other temptations, while Charles and Stacy continue to explore the ups and downs of making coupledom work.
Kita (Erica Hubbard), who is still dealing with being left at the altar, decides to go find herself and joins the cast of a reality show similar to “Survivor.” Cutie pie and former child star Kyla Pratt joins the cast as Kita’s cousin, Crystal, and is asked to house-sit in her absence while attending a college in Atlanta.
Be sure to check out the premieres of “The Game” at 10PM EST and “Let’s Stay Together” at 10:30PM tonight on BET.
