This past Saturday, August 24, The Ailey Extension, The Ailey Organization’s program of dance and fitness classes for the general public, and beloved actress, songstress, dancer and TV personality, Adrienne Bailon hosted PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT BACK TO SCHOOL ZUMBA PARTY presented by Teen Diaries and Women on the Move. It was a day full of SWEAT-spiration and excitement as The Ailey Extension’s Shahidah Ansari Zumba® Jammer (Choreography Specialist) & Instructor led a class of approximately 80 girls ages 13-18 who danced non stop to high-energy Zumba mix alongside Adrienne and participating mentors. Mentors included, radio personality and marketing maven, Simone “Boss Lady” Amelia, VH1’s Love & Hip Hop’s Tahiry Jose, ESSENCE Senior Health and Relationships Editor, Sharon Boone, Black Girls Code’s Donna Knutt, Balan Inc. co-founder, Michou St. Jules, Celebrity Nail Artist, Dawn Sterling, Dr. Afriye Amerson, Ernst & Young’s Erin Hajj, and Island/Def Jam digital marketing manager Christina Smith.
