(AllHipHop News) First week projections for Maybach Music Group’s second compilation, Self Made Vol. 2, are being reported by Hits Daily Double at around 85,000 copies sold. This is a substantial increase from the first week sales of the group’s first compilation that was released in 2011.
Self Made Vol. 2 is expected to debut at #3 on the charts next week, only surpassed by new releases from Linkin Park and Maroon 5 who are projected to sell 230,000 and 200,000 respectively. The album’s first single, “Bag Of Money,” which features Wale, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and T-Pain currently sits at #14 on Billboard’s “Hip-Hop and R&B” chart.
According to a press release, Think Like A Man, one of 2012’s biggest monetary surprises in terms of success, will be receiving a sequel: “Screen Gems is moving forward with a sequel to the box office success Think Like A Man based on the #1 New York Times Best Seller written by Steve Harvey, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man” which, to date, has grossed over $91 million at the domestic box office. The sequel will be written by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, who penned the screenplay for the first film.”
“Think Like A Man was released on April 20, and was the top ranked film of the weekend, with a domestic gross of $33.6 million. Will Packer will produce via his Rainforest Films banner. Harvey will serve as executive producer on the project alongside Rushion McDonald and Rob Hardy.” The sequel is expected to hit theaters in late 2013.
R. Kelly is recovering, after a report from Rolling Stone that the singer/songwriter, who was in New York City promoting his new album, Write Me Back, had to be rushed to a Chicago to be treated for complications stemming from a throat surgery the singer had last summer. “Initial indications are that he is suffering from complications from surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords. It is unclear how long Kelly may be sidelined,” according to Rolling Stone. The three-time Grammy Award-winner’s eleventh studio album is now in stores.
