(AllHipHop News) Legendary Los Angeles-based Hip-Hop producer and “G-Funk Era” artist Warren G spoke with AllHipHop over the weekend about his upcoming music and focus as of late.
Prime cultivator of the West Coast G-Funk sound over the last few decades, Warren G appeared on set and made cameo appearance in Game’s “Celebration” video, featuring Lil’ Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, and Chris Brown.
“I’m here to support the homeboy Game doing his thing and Hip-Hop, period,” Warren G told AllHipHop.com. “I met him before he got signed to Dre; I would see him in the studio a lot. Sh*t, it’s been a while that was way back when me and Dre was doing some stuff, and we worked in the studio one time, and I still got the record and it’s still dope. I haven’t put it out, but I may put it out one day.”
Currently, Warren G has been focused on production and has several records that are getting airplay on radio stations in major markets.
“Right now, I got a record that’s out there bubblin’ real hard right now called “Still In Love”, and it’s a record about how I feel – and I love this music, and that’s what I love doing and that’s what the song is about. I just produced a record by Young Jeezy and Ne-Yo called “Leave Me Alone”, that’s a big record right now, so that’s poppin’ out there and hopefully, we can get a Grammy,” Warren G said.
In addition to his song with Young Jeezy, Warren G has been working on unreleased material from Nate Dogg, and songs with E-40 and Too Short.
“I’m just producing, got some stuff I’m sending to E-40 right now. Me, him, and Short Dogg, we got a song called “Saturday”, featuring Nate Dogg; that sh*t is dope, and I’m just producing, still doing my artist thing on the side,” Warren G explained. “I’m mainly focused on production, but the artist thing is still there, and the fanbase is still there. That’s why I dropped those records.”
Currently, Warren G’s song with Game and the late Nate Dogg, entitled “Party We Will Throw Now”, is getting play throughout the country, and will be featured on Warren G’s upcoming album, Regulate…G Funk Era Pt 2.
