(AllHipHop News) The Mount Rushmore of music executives has to include Clive Davis, the man who signed Whitney Houston, Sean “Diddy’ Combs, Alicia Keys, Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin.
However, he might have made his most shocking discovery over 25 years ago, when he figured out he was bisexual, he told Katie Couric today (February 19).
The 80-year-old music titan spoke on Katie about how he became open to the idea of a romantic relationship with men:
“I opened myself up to the possibility that I could have a relationship with a man as well as the two that I had with a woman. I’m still attracted to women. You don’t have to be only one thing or another. For me, it’s the person.”
Clive Davis has been married twice and states that it was after his second failed marriage in the late 1980’s that he began a 14- year relationship with a male doctor. In addition, of his four children and six grandchildren, it took a “trying year,” before one of his sons could come to terms with Mr. Davis’ sexual orientation.
This revelation comes on the same day as the release of his autobiography The Soundtrack To My Life where he reveals heated disagreements with artists such as Miles Davis, details on his controversial firing from Columbia Records in the 1970’s as well as other juicy details.
