“‘One More Chance’ the remix came about through Puffy [Combs] just saying, ‘I need you to come down here and get on this Big song,'” recalls Blige. “[I said, ‘Whatever.’ We were all family. He if called… I’m coming down.”

Blige also reflected on Ready To Die as a complete album. According to the Grammy-winning singer, she knew the project was something special from the very beginning.

“When I first heard Ready to Die, I was like, ‘This kid Biggie, he’s special’,” said Mary. “Because he was saying how a lot of us were feeling at the time. A lot of us were feeling like, ‘I don’t know if I want to live through all of this.’ He was speaking to us, but he was also helping us to see that we probably shouldn’t be ready to die.”
