(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z has teamed with Hollywood power players Ron Howard and Brian Glazer, who will film the rap mogul’s upcoming Made In America Festival, which will take place over Labor Day weekend.
Ron Howard has shot films like “Apollo 13,” “A Beautiful Mind,” and The Da Vinci Code.”, while Brian Glazer is an industry veteran responsible for blockbusters like “The Nutty Professor,” “The Invisible Man,” “Backdraft” and others.
In addition to Ron Howard and Brian Glaser, Jay-Z, along with longtime business associate Steve Stoute, will serve as c0-producers.
“The festival showcases 20 pre-eminent artists that speak to the new generation. I am producing the film with Steve Stoute and Jay. Ron [Howard] is directing. It is going to be born through Jay-Z’s perspective . . . how he puts the event together,” Brian Glaser told The New York Post. “Jay stayed the king for a very long time . . . I can’t even begin to explain how he is capable of remaining relevant. He is a phenom, like a musical Michael Jordan.”
A number of popular acts, like Drake, Rick Ross, Odd Future and Pearl Jam are performing, but the highlight of the Made In America Festival is the highly anticipated reunion of Hip-Hop legends, Run-DMC, who will give their first performance in over 10 years, as the event.
The Made in America Festival is slated to take place on September 1-2 on The Parkway, in Philadelphia.
