The National Academy of Recording Arts &
Sciences will announce the nominations for the 45th Annual Grammy Awards on
Tuesday, January 7 at Madison Square Garden with the help of Ashanti, Avril
Lavigne, Cyndi Lauper, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake, Kenny Chesney, Nelly,
P. Diddy, and others to be announced.
The 45th Annual Grammy Awards will originate
from Madison Square Garden in New York City, and the show will be broadcast
live on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, February 23, 2003, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
Established in 1957, the National Academy of
Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc., also known as the Recording Academy, is
dedicated to improving the quality of life and cultural condition for music
and its makers.
An organization of more than 18,000 musicians,
producers and other recording professionals, the Recording Academy is internationally
known for the GRAMMY Awards, and is responsible for numerous groundbreaking
outreach, professional development, cultural enrichment, education and human
services programs.
