50 Cent addressed rumors
surrounding the signing of Harlem, New York rapper Ma$e to the growing G-Unit
roster.
On Thursday (August 18), 50 Cent appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to support
the "princess of G-Unit" Olivia as she performed her song "Twist
It".
While in a question and
answer session, 50 addressed the rumor that he was signing former Bad Boy turned
Reverend Ma$e.
"Right now I am just
working with Ma$e right now on his album," 50 told the 106 & Park audience.
"But if all goes well after the project is released then we will be signing
him to the label."
Although unofficially signed, Ma$e has stated that there is no doubt that G-Unit
will eventually be his label home.
"It seems at this point
it’s gonna be on G-Unit," Ma$e said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid on
Sirius Radio. "When I came back to Bad Boy, they didn’t want me to go where
I wanted to go [with my music], they wanted me to do what was safe for them.
I had to pretty much sabotage myself. Everybody knows who I am."
As far as what that sound
will be for the Bad Boy turned Reverend said his music wouldn’t be as hardcore
as his G-Unit cohorts, but would instead fit right in the middle. "I ain’t
going to be 50," Ma$e said. "I ain’t gonna be Usher, but right in
between."
50 Cent is currently on his Massacre tour and recently announced that in light
of Eminem being hospitalized for dependency on sleep aides, he is adding the
scheduled European tour dates of the Anger Management 3 tour to the European
leg of his Massacre tour.
The European Tour will not
only feature 50 Cent and the G-unit but Akon has also been tapped to join the
tour.
No dates for the European Massacre Tour were available as of press time.
