Tekashi 6ix9ine has been relatively quiet on social media after his sophomore album failed to live up to the commerical success he promised his fans. Tattletales only moved 53,000 first-week units. The controversial rapper/self-described internet troll is now back in the headlines.
According to the gossip blog The Shade Room, 6ix9ine (born Daniel Hernandez) was hospitalized earlier this week due to an overdose of diet pills and caffeine. He apparently claimed that a mixture of two Hydroxycut weight loss supplements and McDonald’s coffee caused the medical scare.

DJ Akademiks, a close associate and musical collaborator with Tekashi, addressed the news on his Instagram page. The Everyday Struggle host wrote, “This is true.. lol he finally realizes he needs a trainer not no CVS products. Talked to him today tho. He was on the track running [and] in good spirits. He’ll be back soon.”
Following 6ix9ine’s apparent pharmaceutical mistake, he is said to be “at home and doing fine.” The 24-year-old gangster rapper-turned-government witness is currently on probation after pleading guilty to nine federal charges and taking a plea deal in the highly-publicized racketeering trial of the Nine Trey Bloods in New York. Under his plea deal, Hernandez is not allowed to use illegal drugs or substances.
