(AllHipHop News) Gucci Mane’s life story is set to be the subject of a big screen film.

Executives at Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have acquired the rights to the hip-hop star’s 2017 book “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane,” according to Variety.

It is believed studio bosses plan to work with the same producers who made 2002 film “8 Mile,” which was based heavily on rapper Eminem’s own story.

Alabama-born Gucci, real name Radric Davis, wrote most of the autobiography while serving a lengthy prison sentence, with the tome telling of his difficult childhood, drug addiction as well as career highs and lows.

He was sentenced in August 2014, to serve three years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to a federal firearms charge.

The judge also sentenced him to serve three years of supervised release with extra limitations on his travel.

In January, the rapper took to Twitter to share that he hoped he would be able to direct a film based on his life.

While a director for the new project is yet to be announced, Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins will produce.

The biopic isn’t Gucci’s first brush with Hollywood, as he previously starred in Harmony Korine’s 2013 film “Spring Breakers” alongside James Franco and Selena Gomez.
