A Man Has Been Charged In The Shooting Of Two Ferguson Officers

A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

There is now a suspect in the Ferguson shooting that left two officers wounded last week (Mar. 12). A 20-year-old man named Jeffrey Williams has been apprehended and charged with two counts of first-degree assault, one count of firing a weapon from a vehicle and three counts of armed criminal action, according to Yahoo! News.

Williams has told the authorities that his intentional targets were not the two police officers but St. Louis County Prosecutor says “we’re not sure if we buy that part of it.”

Williams’ gun matches the shell casings that were left at the scene and he was found through tips from the public.

The two officers were shot during a demonstration after it was announced that Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson was resigning from the department.
