(AllHipHop News) Peter Rosenberg launched his new weekly late-night Complex program Open Late on Thursday. Harlem emcee A$AP Rocky was one of the guests on the premiere episode.
Rocky was asked about a rumored beef between him and Travis Scott. The perceived bad blood once again became a trending topic after Funkmaster Flex recently accused Scott of stealing A$AP’s style.
“Bunch of rappers stole Asap Rocky’s swag! Think they slick!,” tweeted Flex on April 2. He followed that by adding, “Oh? U want names? First name: Travis Scott!!! Who else y’all think?”
The Hot 97 deejay later posted, “Bunch of rappers stole Asap Rocky’s swag! Think they slick!” That got a reply from Rocky, who commented, “FLVCKO FACT.”
Rosenberg brought up the so-called “weirdness” between the two rhymers on Open Late. Rocky responded, “[Flex] is speaking his opinion. It’s times when I feel like I’ve pioneered a lot of sh-t but don’t get acknowledgment from certain people or artists. I think a lot of people see it too.”
The “A$AP Forever” performer added, “I don’t even know why we’re talking about Travis Scott right now. No shade… I think Travis Scott makes cool music. And he had a baby, I’m happy for that.”
Back in 2016, A$AP Nast also accused Travis of biting his group’s swag. However, his A$AP Mob partner downplayed the theft accusations while speaking with Ebro In The Morning.
“If you gonna do something and influence people, you can’t be arrogant about it when somebody gets inspired,” stated Rocky at the time. “When people get inspired, you can’t fault them for that. That makes you look crazy.”
