Steve Harvey’s
“Steve Harvey Morning Show” will end its run on KKBT-FM (The Beat)
according to reports. Harvey’s contract with Radio One is up at the end
of the year. Reports said that the show drew good ratings, but was expensive
to run. Reports also suggested that attempts to syndicate the show proved unsuccessful.
One of Ireland’s
newest rap magazines will celebrate their re-launch next month. Rap Ireland
was originally published under the name Hip-Hop Ireland, but due to legal reasons
the magazine had to change the name. Armed with a new name, Rap Ireland will
host a launch party in The Hub, Temple Bar in Dublin on June 9th. “The
night is to celebrate the name change, the third issue and the start of a great
summer,” Rap Ireland’s Kev Storrs told AllHipHop.com. “It’s
going to be a brilliant night.” Frank Jez of Ireland’s FM 104 will
spin for the evening.
Wu-Tang affiliate
and Sunz of Man co-founder Prodigal Sunn is preparing to release his solo debut,
Return of the Prodigal Sunn. The album features appearances by GZA,
12 O’Clock, 60 Second Assassin, Yung Masta, Chi-King and Madame Dee. “You
know I’ve been on a lot of albums and traveled the world so I called my
album ‘The Return of the Prodigal Sunn’ because I’ve been
out there in the streets and I’ve come back to share my story through
my own songs,” Prodigal Sunn said. The first single is titled “Brutality
(The Grindz Remix)” and features RZA’s latest discovery, C.C.F.
Division. RZA, J.Wellz, B Original, K-Beats and others handle production duties.
