As part of the ASCAP Presents… Heineken

R&B Ampt Music Series of regional showcases, four up-and-coming artists

will be performing at The Cotton Club (152 Luckie Street, Atlanta, GA) in Atlanta

on Monday, September 30, 2002. Doors open at 7:00 PM. The show starts at 8:00

PM. The artist line-up includes LaMajic, Transcendental Funk, Heston and LaTocha

Scott (formerly of Xscape). The evening will also include a special presentation

by Cody ChestnuTT and guest performances by Eric Anthony, Gabrielle and Rudy

Currence.

The ASCAP Presents… Heineken R&B Ampt

Music Series made its debut at S.O.B.’s in New York City on September 24.

The showcase series is designed to bring deserving R&B songwriters and artists

to the attention of both the music industry and the public, in line with ASCAP’s

longstanding commitment to developing new musical talent and Heineken USA’s

efforts to support performing arts.

A highlight of the evening will be the special

presentation by ChestnuTT to erika bryant, the Atlanta-based winner of The Heineken

Music Initiative/The ASCAP Foundation R&B Grant program. This newly-created

grant program, launched last March, is designed to assist emerging R&B songwriters

further their careers, and will benefit up-and-coming songwriters in key music

markets across the country (New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Miami).

The winning songwriter from each of the markets will be awarded a $3,500 grant.

The R&B Grant program complements the ASCAP Presents…. Heineken R&B

Ampt Music Series by spotlighting deserving R&B songwriters for special

recognition.

“We are delighted that Heineken USA has

teamed with us to help focus attention on deserving R&B artists,” said

Jeanie Weems, ASCAP VP Creative & Film/TV Special Projects. “Through

these showcases and The Heineken Music Initiative/The ASCAP Foundation R&B

Grant program, ASCAP is able to continue its commitment to nurturing and developing

new musical talent in the R&B genre. I am especially pleased to congratulate

erika bryant, the Atlanta recipient of the $3,500 R&B grant.”
