Author Mykel Mitchell has

set out to bridge the gap between Hip-Hop and Christianity in his new book, titled

“Word: For Everybody Who Thought Christianity Was For Suckas.”

In “Word,” Mitchell details his personal religious journey to Jesus

Christ, his love for Hip-Hop and how “expensive toys, fly gear and expensive

girlfriends” left him feeling hopeless.

"We are choosing [to] impact people of faith who can give concrete answers,

without religious jargon, to some of the problems facing African American men

today,” Mitchell said in a previous interview.

The book details Mitchell’s tale of growing up in the projects, how he

fell in love with rap at the age of 11, his pervious hustling days, his relationships

with women and finally, going back to church and eventually becoming a husband

and father.

“Word” was released on February 1st and is available at Amazon.com

or your local bookstore.
