B.I.G.’s Son Rings NASDAQ Opening Bell In NYC

Closing out a week filled with the memory and legacy of his father, 11-year-old Christopher “CJ” Wallace, Jr. presided over the NASDAQ Opening Bell this in New York City yesterday morning (January 9).   CJ was joined by his mother R&B singer Faith Evans and his grandmother Voletta Wallace in a promotional appearance to support the highly anticipate Notorious, the biopic chronicling the meteoric rise and tragic death of the legendary Notorious B.I.G.   The youngster, who his mother says has indicated an interest in the entertainment business, makes his acting debut in the film as a young version of the father he, sadly, never got to know.   Earlier this week, CJ, Evans and Ms. Wallace were joined by dozens of celebrities who came out to show their love and support at the Notorious premier in New York City on Wednesday.   The celebrity attendees including Jay-Z and Beyonce, Russell Simmons, Nas, Ciara, Fabolous, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Ice T, actor Idris Elba, DJ Clue, Lil’ Cease, and of course, Diddy, made for an equally star-studded after party at the Roseland Ballroom.   The evening was described by some as a scene out of Biggie’s life.   Notorious is produced by Ms. Wallace and B.I.G.’s former managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, along with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who serves as the film’s Executive Producer.   The movie is based on writer Cheo Hodari Coker’s 2004 biography Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.   The film hits theaters on January 16.
