(AllHipHop News) Beanie Sigel has stepped in to headline a tribute concert fellow rapper Shawty Lo had organized for his late father before he was killed in a car accident on Wednesday (September 21).
The former D4L star, real name Carlos Walker, died at the age of 40, after the car he was driving spun off a highway in Atlanta, Georgia and crashed, bursting into flames.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, while two female passengers were hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
Walker’s deadly accident occurred just a day before he was set to perform at a club gig in Baltimore, Maryland, in memory of his father, who suffered a fatal heart attack on September 6.
Shawty had even penned a new song paying tribute to his dad, titled “Letter To My Father,” and had planned to debut the track at the Club Oxygen show, alongside rapper Turk, according to his manager, Johnnie Cabbell.
However, Thursday’s (September 22) concert will now serve as a memorial for Walker Sr. and Jr. – and Beanie Sigel has signed on to take the tragic star’s place.
