In commemoration of Black History Month, Double Xxposure and the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services (JBFCS) are sponsoring the first ever Salute to the Heroes of Hip-Hop, a one-day event celebrating individuals who have contributed to the success of Black people in the Hip-Hop industry.
The one-day affair was organized to honor present-day icons and role models. Panelists include the legendary Big Daddy Kane and DJ Premier.
New York radio personality Ed Lover will host the event, which features performances by Teflon (formerly of MOP), rap artist LA, and emerging rapper Mike Watts.
The event was created to allow the youth of the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services to showcase their special talents to panelists and guest performers.
Many participants will also be given an opportunity for one-on-one consultation and advisement sessions with the panelists to receive guidance on how to become an industry leader.
For more than 110 years, JBFCS has been one of the nation’s largest nonprofit mental health and social service agencies.
Double Xxposure is a publicity and artist management firm that has released such artists as Mary J. Blige, Patra, Shabba Ranks, Dru Hill and Big Daddy Kane.
