Big Sean Joins #FixThePipes Campaign To Help Flint Residents

ONCE AGAIN, THE DETROIT RAPPER IS WORKING TO CHANGE THE WORLD

(AllHipHop News) Detroit-bred rap star Big Sean has been one of the most involved entertainers in helping residents of Flint, Michigan dealing with the city’s water crisis.

In 2016, Sean donated $10,000 for the #HealFintKids fundraiser, and he worked with the Heal Flint Kids project.

The “One Man Can Change The World” performer has now also joined Green For All’s #FixThePipes campaign.

“It’s been three years since Flint’s poisoning, and city residents are still years away from getting needed relief. That’s why we launched #FixThePipes – to help Flint families get the help they need now,” stated Vien Truong, director of Green For All. “Every dollar we collect brings Flint families one step closer to clean bathing and drinking water.”

Michigan reached a settlement with the federal government to address the public health crisis facing nearly 20,000 households, but it could take up to three years for some citizens to see improvements.

In order to help the people of Flint faster, Green For All is looking to raise over $500,000 for its campaign.

The organization estimates it will cost about $10,000 to improve the pipes in just one home.

Besides Big Sean, fellow celebrities Van Jones, CommonRussell Simmons, and Frances Fisher have endorsed #FixThePipes as well.
