Radio personality/BET
co-host Big Tigger has teamed up with the Street Corner Foundation, Inc. to present
Big Tigger’s 4th Annual Celebrity Classic in Washington D.C. , an event designed
to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Taking place from June 17-19, the weekend event aims to stop
the spread of HIV/AIDS among young adults, minorities and women in the nation’s
capital.
“It’s the biggest weekend in D.C., second only to
Howard’s [University] homecoming,” Tigger told AllHipHop.com. “We
are going to have all of your favorite celebrities and athletes come together
to fight HIV and AIDS.”
Some of Tigger’s celebrity friends include Allen Iverson,
Terrell Owens, Juvenile, DJ Clue, Loon, Vivica Fox, Carmelo Anthony, with more
to be announced this week.
In addition to raising funds for HIV/AIDS, organizers and participants
in the event hope to increase public awareness of the deadly disease that has
plagued numerous communities.
The charitable
beneficiaries of the event include Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care, Metro TeenAIDS,
and the Street Corner Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering
urban neighborhoods.
