(AllHipHop News) The Kendrick Lamar-curated Black Panther soundtrack is on pace to lead the Billboard 200 for two straight weeks. Another musical collection connected with the blockbuster Marvel movie is headed to the album chart as well.
Billboard reports the Black Panther score is expected to land among the Top 100 most popular albums. The set collected around 8,000 equivalent album units the week ending February 22.
Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson oversaw the score. To capture the sound of the fictional nation of Wakanda, he visited African countries in order to record local musicians.
Previously, Göransson scored Fruitvale Station, Top Five, Creed, and Central Intelligence. The 33-year-old songwriter/producer also worked with Childish Gambino and Chance The Rapper.
