(AllHipHop News) The City of Louisville is bracing itself for the potential civil unrest that may happen Tuesday night now that the decision regarding the police-involved killing of Breonna Taylor has been released to the public for the first time.
Today (September 23rd), just one of the three officers was charged, and even that seemed to be a slap on the wrist. Brett Hankison was hit with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and released on $15,000 bail.
Yesterday (September 22nd) the Louisville Metro Police Department barricaded the downtown area after the LDP declared a state of emergency.
Breonna Taylor’s supporters were asking for murder charges to be brought against the three police officers who shot her dead, as she was slept in her bed during an ill-advised of a drug bust after the cops raided the wrong apartment.
Breonna Taylor was only 26-years-old when Hankison, a member of the Louisville Metro Police Department, shot her on June 23rd.
There were two other officers involved in her death, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Officer Myles Cosgrove have all been placed on administrative leave — not fired or charged.
Again, this Black woman was innocent of all crimes. The officers had the wrong information (people and location) when they entered her home that night.
