Late last year, Cam’ron announced through the radio that he was leaving Def Jam after the presidential appointment of Jay-Z and the sale of Roc-A-Fella Recordings. But, now sources inside the label have revealed that the Diplomat chief is still with the label.
While details are scarce, Cam was still contractually bound to the label despite an alleged release from Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid.
While his album Purple Haze is cooling off on the charts, he’s moving into other ventures.
As an entrepreneur, the Harlem native has persistently made forays into liquor, investments, stores, side label deals and he intends to drop a new straight-to-video movie.
“I am shooting a movie called ‘What’s Really Good,’ Cam told AllHipHop.com. “It’s similar to the [Jay-Z movie] ‘Streets Is Watching,’ but it’s more updated and it’s coming to pay-per-view along with [a] show that I did recently.”
Cam’ron has promptly dismissed the rumors circulating that his real movies would be into the world of p### production and related videos.
Cam added, “I am not that kind of person man, I got kids.”
Besides music and movies, Cam is known as a huge fashion buff. The purple man revealed where he purchases his gear and what his typical wardrobe entails.
Cam named Apollo Signature on 125th street near the historic Apollo Theater as his regular stop-shop. “They’re the flyest elegant store in Harlem. You can’t even get some of the things no where else, like my jeans which [are] from “Rich Kid.”
Cam also rocks 69 shirts, which he said are similar to Coogi sweaters that run between $600 and $700 normally.
“I got some dunks [Nike Sneakers] from Japan that I ordered over the Internet that I flew in to match my outfit,” Cam continued. The Harlem native is also as big on jewels as he is on the latest trends in the fashion world.
“I got this watch from the Damon Dash line Tiret,” Cam boasted.
“Lemon heads [earrings] in my ears, $60 [thousand] on my neck its nothing.”
