(AllHipHop News) Every Super Bowl Sunday consists of football, food, and new commercials. Brands tend to go all out for those spots that play during one of the biggest TV audiences of the year.
Super Bowl LII saw several Hip Hop representatives contribute to the night’s ads. Cardi B shined for Amazon, and Big Sean teamed with Keegan-Michael Key for Rocket Mortgage.
Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes faced off by proxy in the “Doritos Blaze vs. MTN DEW ICE” ad starring Peter Dinklage and Morgan Freeman. Iggy Azalea and Ricegum showed up for Monster.
Once again Run The Jewels’ “Legends Has It” is connected to the Black Panther movie. After Killer Mike and El-P’s song was used in the teaser trailer for the Marvel production, Lexus included the RTJ track in its Black Panther tie-in for the LS 500 F Sport.
In addition, Odell Beckham Jr and Eli Manning also led a commercial for the NFL. Hollywood’s “it girl” of the moment, Tiffany Haddish, expressed her appreciation for Groupon, and the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s image was added to Pepsi’s SBLII advertisement.
