(AllHipHop News) Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar continues to rack up platinum plaques. The entertainment superstar, better known as Cardi B, just achieved another historic career milestone.
Cardi’s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” has been certified 9x-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The former Number One on the Hot 100 Chart is the highest certified single by a female rapper.
The record was previously held by Nicki Minaj with “Super Bass.” Minaj’s Pink Friday track is presently certified 8x-Platinum. “Fefe” – her collaboration with 6ix9ine – recently crossed the 8 million sold mark as well.
“Bodak Yellow” is on pace to make Cardi B the first solo female rapper to earn a Diamond Single Award (10x-Platinum) from the RIAA. The Bronx-raised entertainer’s “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin is also likely to go Diamond in the future. That #1 smash is currently certified 7x-Platinum.
Cardi is already the most certified female rapper in history for singles (32.5 million units). She only trails Drake (154), Eminem (107.5), Kanye West (69), Post Malone (51), Flo Rida (49.5), Kendrick Lamar (41), and Lil Wayne (33) on the all-time list for Hip Hop acts.
As far as album plaques, Eminem leads the rap pack with 46 million certified units, 2Pac is in second place (36.5), and Jay-Z comes in third (27.5). Cardi B’s lone studio LP, 2018’s Invasion of Privacy, has been certified 3x-Platinum.
