Cash Money Records and Rodney Jerkins of Darkchild Entertainment have signed a production and distribution deal where the New Orleans hip-hop label will distribute, co-promote and market records with Darkchild Records.

Harlem-based rapper FATS’ album, F.A.T.S (Finally A True Story) is the first expected collaboration between the two companies, according to Ronald “Slim” Williams. FATS album is slated to have appearances by Brandy, Michael Jackson, Cash Money artist and Freeway, who is featured on the first single “Stand Up.”

Of their expansion to rappers in New York, Williams told AllHipHop.com, “We not trying to take over, we just doing what we are supposed to do.”

Ronald Williams, CEO and Bryan “Baby” Williams, Co-CEO’s of Cash Money, CM business manager Vernon Brown and Jerkins also plan to release 3-5 national album releases via the Darkchild/Cash Money/Universal imprint.

Since signed a landmark deal with Universal Records in 1998 for a reported $30 million, Cash Money has sold over 20 million units and grossed over 150 million, according to their publicist.

Ronald and Bryan Williams purchased the movie rights and screen adaptation for the Terri Woods’ novel True To The Game.

Lil’ Wayne’s 500 Degreez is the next release for Cash Money Records. Ronald “Slim” Williams also said the company had a number of other releases slated to come out, including another album from estranged member Juvenile.

Revered song writer/ producer/ mogul Rodney Jerkins has worked with such luminaries as Destiny’s Child, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Aaliyah, and Michael Jackson.
