Chance The Rapper Listed As The Youngest Hip Hop Act Among Forbes Highest-Paid Celebrities For 2017

THE INDIE RHYMER IS THE FOURTH YOUNGEST PERSON ON THE LIST

(AllHipHop News) It comes as no surprise when moguls such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young are added to various Forbes lists.

Over the last few years, Aubrey Drake Graham’s name has become a regular among the top earning rap stars too.

All four entertainers were once again part of Forbes’ “The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities” list for 2017, but a newcomer made his way into the top 100 as well.

According to the business publication, Chancelor “Chance The Rapper” Bennett brought in $33 million over the 12 month scoring period.

That total puts the Coloring Book creator at #95, and it makes him the youngest (24) Hip Hop artist to be listed.

Only three other celebrities younger than Chance made Forbes‘ Celebrity 100 – Kylie Jenner (19, #59, $41 million), Justin Bieber (23, #13, $83.5 million), and Jordan Spieth (23, #83, $34.5 million).

The Chicago native’s inclusion also stands out because he is an independent music artist that has yet to sell physical copies of his projects.

“I think the free part of it is more of an attention grabbing thing and something that people can use as a marker to track what I’m doing,” said CTR in an interview in 2016. “Since I was 15 or 16 passing out mixtapes outside of my high school, I always gave them away for free.”

Chance acquired some of his wealth through concert and festival appearances as well as deals with brands such as Apple and Kit Kat.

Earlier this year, he gave away $1 million to the Chicago Public Schools.
