(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has mostly remained out of the limelight over the last year. However, the rapper/producer recently made his return to Twitter and he’s been seen out in public more often too.
TMZ caught Ye in California with The Breakfast Club‘s Charlamagne Tha God. CTG discussed his meeting with the G.O.O.D. Music founder on this morning’s radio show.
Charlamagne admitted Kanye played him some new music, and he also recalled a conversation they had about J. Cole. According to the influential media personality, West felt the fellow Jay-Z protégé has been taking shots at him on multiple records.
Back in 2016, many Hip Hop listeners believed the first verse of Cole’s “False Prophets” was about Ye. CTG told his audience that Kanye also felt lines from “No Role Modelz” off 2014 Forest Hills Drive were about him as well.
“N-gga, I don’t want no b-tch from reality shows, out-of-touch-with-reality hoes,” raps Cole on the song.
Apparently, Kanye felt those lyrics were a reference to his relationship with Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian West. Charlamagne did point out that Ye’s tone was more lighthearted than angry when he was talking about Cole.
Will Jermaine Cole have more words for Mr. West on his forthcoming KOD album? Now rap fans will likely be listening for supposed subliminal “disses” when the LP arrives this Friday, April 20.
