(AllHipHop News) On Monday (Jan. 31), Charles “FiF Money” Smith was shot and killed by Chicago police. Authorities responded to the scene — which happened to be the childhood home of the Chicago Bulls’ point-guard, Derrick Rose — and claim that Mr. Smith pointed a gun at the cops.
Both the late-Mr. Smith and his girlfriend, Breanna Patterson, are thought to have been pursuit of a man they say had previously robbed them. The cops maintain that Mr. Smith and Ms. Patterson would then break into the home. Concerned neighbors contacted area police to report a suspicious “person with a gun.” They contend that a home invasion was in progress.
Upon arrival, cops contend that an exchange of gun fire happened after Mr. Smith aimed his weapon at the cops. He was mortally wounded and would succumb to his injuries. Illinois state law stipulates that anyone who commits a felon which subsequently results in death may be charged with murder.
As it stands, Ms. Patterson has been charged with first degree murder and home invasion.
May Charles Smith rest in peace.
