LP ARTWORK FROM RAKIM, DRE, DMX, LAURYN, COLE & MORE GET A SUPERHERO MAKEOVER

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop culture and comic book culture have always had a close relationship. Just look at how many rap stars incorporate superheros and supervillains into their public personas – e.g. Big Pun (The Punisher), Ghostface Killah (Tony Stark aka Iron Man), MF Doom (Doctor Doom), Jean Grae (Jean Gray), and DJ Green Lantern (Green Lantern).

Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso tapped into that cross-cultural connection by creating 27 variant Hip Hop album covers featuring characters from the Marvel Universe.

Classic artwork for LPs by Rakim, Dr. Dre, DMX, A Tribe Called Quest, 50 Cent, Lauryn Hill, J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, and others were redesigned using Spider-Man, Deadpool, Wolverine, Iron Man and more.
