Check Out This 40,000 Square-Foot Mural Of J. Cole

J. Cole

Graffiti artist JEKS gave HUGE props to J. Cole!

J. Cole is a lesson for emerging rappers who believe that they have to sell out and be on the radio 24/7.

The lyrical miracle has stayed true to his calling and has achieved notable success. In fact, his artistic integrity is one of the reasons that former President Barack Obama has him in his personal playlist.

In addition to being a rapper’s rapper, he is also a wonderful human’s human with a heart of gold. In 2016, he (through his foundation) changed the house that he grew up in, into a homestead for single mothers and their children, allowing them to stay there rent-free. This is only one example of his charitable acts.

His career as a rapper and his undying love for his community and home state North Carolina is why he is now the subject of a monstrous 40,000 square-foot mural designed by the graffiti artist JEKS and popular Hip-Hop photographer Jonathan Mannion.

The mural is located on the UHill Walls in Durham, North Carolina.

JEKS shared a photo of his “masterpiece” on his Instagram on Saturday, September 26. The caption put into words just how important the burner is to him.

“Another collaboration with legendary photographer @jonathanmannion of NC hiphop legend @realcoleworld for @uhillwalls in Durham NC. It was such an awesome few days surrounded by 40-plus other artists killing it.”

Though Fayetteville, J. Cole’s hometown, is over an hour away, it is still a high honor for the Dreamville emcee.
