(AllHipHop News) Fresh off winning his first Grammy award on Sunday, Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover is giving fans the chance to reflect on earlier stages of his music career. The entertainer’s 2011 EP project is now available on streaming services for the first time.
Glover’s Wolf + Rothstein label/management company partnered with the distribution/payments platform Stem for EP. The collection is the initial creative endeavor powered by Wolf + Rothstein which is expected to continue with more releases throughout 2018.
“Artists should never be in the position where the industry hinders their creative output,” says Wolf Taylor, one of Glover’s managers and partners in Wolf + Rothstein. “Our goal is to give our artists the ability to release content when and where they want. Partnering with Stem has allowed us to maintain our major label resources while providing us with a platform to independently release our special projects.”
Stem CEO, Milana Lewis states, “It’s rewarding for our team at Stem to help artists realize the true potential value of their content and watch how that revenue is reinvested to power their future creative endeavors. We are inspired by the infrastructure Wolf + Rothstein is creating to support artists, and aim to continue to build tools that help businesses like theirs flourish.”
Childish Gambino won the Best Traditional R&B Performance Grammy for “Redbone” off the “Awaken, My Love!” album. His discography also includes Camp, Because The Internet, Royalty, and STN MTN/Kauai.
