(AllHipHop News) “Last request, can all producers please get paid?” raps Rick Ross on “Idols Become Rivals.” The track off 2017’s Rather You Than Me was directed at Cash Money’s Birdman, but the MMG frontman is now being accused of stiffing a beat maker.
Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids called out Rozay on Twitter. According to the Michigan native, he never received payment for his work.
“I’m gon keep it a stack. Hard to hear Ross press Birdman about paying producers. When I never saw a cent from them for ‘Party Heart,'” posted Inglish. “Just keep it level… none of you n##### pay [your] producers.”
“Party Heart” appeared on Ross’ 2012 mixtape Rich Forever. Last week, Eric “E. Dan” Dan alleged Atlantic Records will label a music project as a “mixtape” or a “street album” in order to avoid properly compensating the producers.
Rick Ross was signed to Def Jam at the time Rich Forever was released. However, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League also tweeted that the practice of renaming “black music” something other than an album was common for all labels.
