A
City Council committee has voted against a measure that
would have named a Bronx intersection after Christoper "Big
Pun" Rios because of their discomfort over his lyrics.
Fans of Big Pun collected over 7,000 signatures, requesting
to rename the intersection of 163rd and Rogers Place in
the Morrisania section of the Bronx, to be renamed after
the Hip-Hop artist. Big Pun died of a heart attack when
he was 28 years old.
Big Punisher
was the first Latino Hip-Hop artist to go platinum.
